Founded in 2006, At The Eastern Door has grown into a collective group of some of the finest craftsmen and artists in North America dedicated to well researched and documented reproduction material culture of the 18th century.

We believe that we have an obligation to history and those that came before, to work within the confines of the original craftsmen, objects, and social norms of the period. To do so by way of our collective knowledge, skill, and often difficult to acquire materials, in order to interpret history faithfully and responsibly for future generations.

Our goal therefore, is to provide the finest in 18th century reproductions by way of a hands-on study of known period examples in public, private, and our own personal collections. We continue to achieve this by an established set of standards focused on quality of research, quality of materials, and quality of workmanship while consistently maintaining the ability to furnish documentation to support every item that we produce. All of this being done to facilitate education and understanding of what was common during the period while encouraging growth in historically responsible interpretations. In most cases, if we cannot provide you with a high quality item, we can certainly direct you to a competent tradesman or artist to meet your needs.
